Celebrating Girls with Hope

The first programming offered by The Woman’s Discovery Center was a partnership with Families, Inc. Counseling Services.  The program, designed for preteen girls, allowed 47 girls from public, parochial, and home-school backgrounds from all over our community to examine the issues of self-esteem, friendships, bullying, and body image. 

Our children face huge challenges on a daily basis, some we may not even know about.  “Celebrating Girls” was designed to shore up a child’s self-esteem and overall well-being.  Through discussion and group activities, the girls explored these issues and had a great time meeting new friends and interacting with them!
