By popular demand we are continuing our "1st Wednesday" Brown Bag Luncheon programming. Mark your calendars for the first Wednesday of each month from 11:30 - 1:00 to join other women for interesting, informative, fun, interactive gatherings on a variety of topics. This is your chance to take a break from your regular routine at the office or at home - have some good conversation - meet new people or old friends - and learn a little something as well.
June 4, 2008 - We're kicking off the summer programming with "Taking a Breath - Bringing our Minds, Bodies, and Hearts into Balance." Presenter Marian Peeler is a pure delight! She'll engage us as we look at the benefits to all areas of our lives of reducing stress. Wondering how you'll deal with the kids at home all day every day this summer? Working too many hours and not taking time for yourself? Had a life crisis lately and can't seem to get back into rhythm? That should cover most of us . . . so come enjoy the conversation with Marian and the company of all those who show up.
July 2, 2008 - July's 1st Wednesday Brown Bag Luncheon will feature Judy Roberts, who will help all of us get ready for our summer reading, whether we are going on vacation or just taking the time to begin a reading program. A retired librarian, Judy now works with a local bookstore and keeps up-to-date on all the latest bestsellers. She is also particularly knowledgeable about Southern Women writers. Please join us as Judy shares her charming wit.
Cost: $10.00 (scholarships always available) It helps us to know how many to expect if you make reservations by calling 870-933-9939, but if you find that you are free at the last minute, come on in . . you're always welcome at The Woman's Discovery Center.
